Cowardice asks the question ‘Is it safe?’

Expediency asks the question ‘Is it politic?’

Vanity asks the question ‘Is it popular?’

But, conscience asks the question, ‘Is it right?’

And there comes a time when one must take a

Position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor

Popular, but one must take it because one’s

Conscience tells one that it is right.

What this great statement by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is saying is that when your gonna do something and you’re scared you ask yourself is it safe? Also that Expediency asks the question is it politic and Vanity asks the question is it popular. Everything you do has a question to be asked and an answer to be replied. It’s trying to say that No matter what you do conscience always tells you what’s writing. For example say that you’re talking to two girls and you love both off them here is where your conscience asks you the question is it write? And that when you have to think off an answer to reply and that answer would be stop taking to both off them and move on in live. Well this is what I understand from this wonder full statement by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
