Genetic Counselors
Research and
provide the following about the genetic counselors
Duties and responsibilities: Genetic counselors are
trained specialists who determine risk factors for hereditary diseases and
disorders in patients. They provide genetic testing and offer education and
counseling to patients and their families. A master's degree in the field is
required, and some states mandate licensure for the profession.
Education: Those interested in the field
must complete a master's degree program in genetic counseling. Due to the small
number of accredited programs, graduate schools often have a highly selective
admission process. Students can prepare for admission with undergraduate
courses in chemistry, biology, genetics and psychology.
Answer: Do you think you would like
to be a genetic counselor? Why? Why not?
I Think I wouldn’t because you need a
lot of brain to do this and I only have a little. Also because it’s a tough
course to do.
